Loss of Frontage

House with gavel and law books. Real estate law and house auction concept

A key factor in determining whether there has been a taking of access is the loss of abutting road frontage and not just one convenient way to get to the property. But the closure of a nonabuting road is probably not compensable. Alterations in another area of a project which eliminate one of the two routes to the property will probably not be considered a taking of property by the courts.
